Idyllisen Puu-Vallilanpaikalla olisi tänä päivänä kerrostaloalue, mikäli virkamiehet olisivat saaneet tahtonsa läpi 1970-luvulla. Alueelle oli jo vahvistettu uusi, vanhat rakennukset korvaava, kaava. Asukkaat nousivat kuitenkin yhdessä kapinaan ja pelastivat oman asuinalueensa.
In the 1970s the Charming Wooden Vallila would have been turned into a high-rise apartment area, if the city officials had their way. The wheels were already turning, but the residents protested hard and managed to save their idyllic neighborhood.
