Text at the bottom of the poster in Finnish and English:
In 1913, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Peace of Hamina, on the grounds of the Uspenski Cathedral In Katajanokka An Orthodox chapel was built. However, this Peace Chapel was considered a symbol of Russian repressive policies, so after Finland gained independence, fanatical nationalist students tarred it. The tar could not be cleaned from the soapstone walls of the chapel, so the building was demolished in 1920.
In 1913 an Orthodox Chapel was built on the site of the Uspenski Cathedral in Katajanokka to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Hamina. Yet the Chapel was viewed as a symbol of Russia's oppressive politics, which led to a group of patriotic students to smudge it with tar after Finland became independent. After unsuccessful attempts to remove the tar, the building was demolished in 1920.
