Autumn News from the Studio
The autumn wind is already starting to blow harder at times. It speaks of change – breaking umbrellas and sweeping away the last remnants of summer. Yet, there’s always something magical about autumn.
For Kuviokioski, August and September have been especially busy months!
Many of you already know that we’ve moved from Punavuori to Vallila. On top of the move, our calendar has been filled with markets, workshops – and, the cherry on top, the arrival of our very first employee.
Yes, you read that right! Kuviokioski now has its first team member. Amera has joined our daily operations focusing on web and marketing tasks – and on the side, she handles pretty much everything else that comes up in a two-person business.
Autumn has also brought refreshing updates to Kuviokioski’s online world. Our website and online shop now have a brand-new, more modern look – and the site is now fully bilingual. Thanks to this update, our products can now be ordered more easily not only within Finland, but also across the EU and to Japan. This is a meaningful step for us, as Kuviokioski has many enthusiastic customers outside of Finland as well.
We also refined our visual identity by redefining our color palette. Alongside black, we’ve highlighted our familiar turquoise – a color that already made appearances in our Punavuori shop. The end result is a look that truly feels like us: fresh, playful, and clear.
Photographer Maija Ukko – our trusted partner behind the lens – captured the spirit of autumn in a series of new product photos. For the past few weeks, they’ve been brightening up our website and social media feeds.
Some of you might be wondering why on earth we left behind our beautiful studio in Punavuori. The reason is simple – we needed more space to bring everything under one roof. Now, we can print and pack our products all in one place, which saves time and significantly reduces the daily logistics.
Sharing one space also makes teamwork smoother. It’s a huge benefit to have all our products and operations at the same address.
We also want to make use of our larger space by organizing different kinds of workshops. At the very least, Lego letterpress workshops are on the horizon – but we’ll share more about those a bit later this autumn.
We’re so happy you’ve found your way to our new blog! 💛
If you have any thoughts, wishes, or even a specific product idea – maybe your favorite neighborhood in Helsinki or any other place – we’d love to hear from you.
